Why should I buy tailor made clothes?

Tailor made clothing guarantees you the perfect fit for your body shape and profile as well as gives you autonomy over all aspects of your garment. And you can be assured your clothes have been hand-crafted by an expert, not mass-produced by machines, so every detail will be constructed with absolute precision. Every detail is in your hands; monograms, pocket style, number of pockets, lapel type and size, pattern, material weight, and color.

How do I get started?

Just like the garment itself, when and how you place your order is entirely your decision. If you’re visiting Patong, come down and see us in-store. We’ll measure you and guide you through the available fabrics and styles. If you’re placing an order online, browse our look book and choose your style or simply upload a picture of a style you like, it could be something you find online or a photo of a friend or colleague – it’s up to you. Once you’ve chosen your design, it’s time to pick your fabric and all the other details you want for your bespoke suit. After submitting your measurements using our online measuring guide, it’s time to sit back, relax, and await the delivery of your custom suit. If you have any questions at any time throughout the ordering process or if you just want some clarification on any aspect of it, you can contact us via Skype, WhatsApp, or FaceTime. And don’t forget, we’re not just the best tailor in Phuket, our traveling tailor also does Trunk Shows at regular intervals where we’ll come to you to measure you up and bring the best in bespoke tailoring to you wherever you are in the world.

How long does it take to tailor my garment?

A tailored suit will be constructed in about 5-6 business days from receipt of your order. A shirt generally takes around 2-3 days depending on how complex the design is. These times can vary slightly during peak times (October – March). For express orders, we can ship your clothes within 1-2 days, but this will require a slightly higher shipping fee. Express orders are not available during peak periods. For further details on our express order service, get in touch and we’ll discuss your specific requirements.

Our tailors begin work on your custom suit when:

  1. Your order is fully paid.
  2. Your Tailor has accepted all your measurements and requirements.
  3. Your chosen fabric is available in the factory. Please note that all our fabrics are imported to ensure the very best quality materials. If we need to order the fabric, it usually takes around 5 working days before it is delivered. Exclusive Tailor has no control over shipping delays for fabric. You can keep up to date with the status of your delivery at sales@exclusivetailor.com

If any changes are required or if measurements or requirements need to be reviewed, this can also increase the production time. Express orders are not available during peak periods and standard delivery takes approximately 7-14 working days.

How are your suits constructed?

All our suits are half-canvassed to ensure a good quality finish and fall.

Do you offer standard sizes?

Exclusive Tailor does not have any off-the-rack garments in stock. All our products are handcrafted based on each customer’s specific measurements and requirements to always achieve the perfect fit.

What is the cost of a tailor made shirt?

Prices start from USD 50 per shirt, but it really depends on your choice of fabric. Generally, shirts range from USD 50 – 100.

What is the cost of a tailor made suit?

Prices start from USD 280 each, depending on your choice of fabric. Generally, suits range from USD 280 – 400.

What is the cost of a custom-tailored dress?

Prices start from USD 150 per dress, depending on your choice of fabric. Generally, dresses range from USD 150 – 220.

Is there an extra charge for monograms?

No, all additional design options, including monograms, are included in the price.

Is there an extra fee for XXL?

No, the price is the same, no matter your height or weight.

How can you offer such affordable tailoring for bespoke made garments?

We can offer great low prices on our custom-tailored garments because we own our own factory and have the infrastructure in place to cut out the middleman and keep costs low. Every aspect of every garment is constructed in-house. Our aim is to make exclusive, affordable tailoring for all, so we keep profit margins low and customer satisfaction high on everything from a first suit to wedding suits.

Wich payment methods do you use?

For online orders, we use Paypal. For in-store orders or orders during Trunk Shows, we accept credit cards, cash in Thai Baht, Euros, GBP, USD, Canadian, Singaporean-or Australian Dollars. We also require a non-refundable 50% deposit in order to begin making your garment. The nature of our bespoke business is such that each garment is cut specifically for each client and cannot be reused for anything else.

What are your operating hours and location?

We are open Monday to Saturday from 11:00 AM to 22:00 PM. On Sundays, we are open between 16:00 and 22:00 PM.

Will my schedule allow me to get a suit made?

Many of our clients spend time traveling around Patong and Phuket and we make appointments to fit around their schedule, but it will take a total of two full working days in Patong.

The ideal schedule will look like this:

Your first appointment will be on Monday. This is where you’ll meet your tailor and choose your fabrics and other options, and we’ll take your measurements. We then need about 12-24 hours to work on the garments and get them ready for a first fitting which would take place on Tuesday evening. We would then need another 12-24 hours to work on the garments before your second fitting on Wednesday evening. Ideally, we would do 1 more fitting on Thursday, as this is the best option to ensure a perfect fit but if your schedule doesn’t allow for this we can complete the garment without you there and ship it to you when it’s finished.

Do you make dresses?

Yes, we craft tailored garments for men and women, including custom-tailored dresses, skirts, blouses, and wedding gowns.

How long does a fitting take?

The initial visit will require the most time and can take anything from 30 minutes to an hour and a half. The average initial visit takes around 45 minutes. Fittings usually take much less time as it is just yourself and your tailor discussing the fit of the garment and making any alterations. This usually takes about 20 minutes.

Do you keep my measurements on file?

After your final fitting, we take final sizes from your garments and store them, along with your paper pattern, for any future orders. So long as your sizes don’t change you can make future orders quickly and easily, and we will post the garments to you.

Do you offer discounts?

What are the shipping costs for online orders?

Shipping costs depend on the weight of your order and where we are shipping to.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY CUSTOM-TAILORED GARMENTS?

Once your order has been finalized (payment made, all options selected) we do our best to ship within 1-2 weeks. From this point, shipping typically takes between 7-14 business days (expect express orders).

Fabrics

What materials are your suits made from?

All of our suits are crafted from materials ranging between Cashmere, Wool,wool-blend, and Linen, making the suit fit for wear all year round. Our materials are stringently tested for quality and wear to ensure they offer exceptional feel and performance.

What is Ply and Thread count?

Ply indicates the thickness of the thread with which the fabric is woven. It is the number of yarns twisted together to make a single thread. 2 ply means 2 fabric threads twisted together to form a single thread to be woven to a fabric.

Thread count refers to the number of fabric threads woven together per square inch of fabric. Fabrics with high thread count and ply are more expensive to produce. These will be your choice if you prefer your shirts silky, soft, and thin. However, thread count is only one factor. The weave of the fabric, the ply, and the mill where the fabric was made are also important factors to consider.

What's the difference between ``easy care`` and ``non-iron``?

Easy Care fabrics require minimal ironing and have better drying and crease recovery properties, whilst non-iron fabrics use Liquid Ammonia + moist cure finishing treatment.

Non-iron fabrics are better and more resistant to wrinkles than easy-care fabrics.

What kind of fabrics do you use for shirts and suits?

We believe in only using the best quality fabrics for all our products, so we use only 100% pure cotton-blend, (for easy iron) in our shirts, and wool, cashmere, linen, and wool-blend fabrics for our suits.

How do I get my exact measurements?

You can easily take your exact measurements within 10 minutes using our online guide.

Alternatively, you can send us existing garments to copy.

Shipping instructions:

Send your shirt using First Class Mail (International post) through your local post office. This is the cheapest way to send packages to us.

Include in the package a detailed note with instructions and details about the shipment (e.g. order number, full name, and any changes or adjustments you want for your new garment.

There is no need to purchase packaging or a large envelope for the shipment. Simply fold the shirt neatly and place it inside a regular envelope.

Please mark the order as USED CLOTHING and do not declare any value on the airway bill so you can avoid paying additional or unnecessary customs taxes.

What are the measurements allowances on the finished product?

Our tolerance of production (cutting commitment) is based on international standards.

Collar and cuffs   (+/-) 0.6 cm total circumference
Bicep   (+/-) 2.0 cm Total circumference
Shoulder length   (+/-) 1 cm total length
Chest size   (+/-) 2.0cm Total circumference
Waist size   (+/-) 2.0 cm Total circumference

These allowances generally apply to all garment types: shirts, suits, jackets, pants for men and women. Unless specified, the standard allowance is   (+/-) 2.0 cm Total circumference.

What is normal weight of your suit fabrics?

Our suit fabrics weigh around 280gr/mt to 300gr/mt.

Do I have to worry about shrinkage?

No. Most of our fabrics are pre-shrunk, compliant with ITF standards that require cotton fabrics to shrink less than 2%. Any other residual shrinkage is considered in the shirt construction process. Some fabrics in our range eg linen and selected 100% cotton have shrinkage of 3-5%.

All orders are shipped via express air with the leading companies: DHL and FedEx.

Delivery to PO boxes, military addresses, APO/DPO is not possible.

The shipping costs depend on the type of garment, weight, destination, and method of shipment.

We recommend DHL as the most cost-effective, fastest, and reliable mode of shipping.

Can I change the shipping adress after submitting the order?

Yes, if the order has not yet been shipped.

Are customs and import duties included in the prices?

No, the customer will be responsible for any import duties and import taxes that may be applicable. We have no control over these charges, nor can we predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country. You should contact your local customs office for more information. There is an exemption quota in most countries that allows some merchandise, depending on the value of the package, to be received free from taxes and duties. The exemption quota varies for each country. For countries such as the United States, Australia, New Zealand, France, and the UK, packages are received free of taxes and duties when the value does not exceed USD 200. For other countries, please check with your local customs office. Our prices are exclusive of any taxes and duties.

What happens if i'm not present to recieve my package?

If you’re not home and miss the delivery of your package, please get in touch with the courier at your earliest convenience to arrange a new delivery. It is best to do this as quickly as possible as the postal service will send the package back to us if it is unclaimed and there will be additional fees for reshipping the package to you.

Where are your custom-made garments produced?

All our shirts and suits are made in-house at Exclusive Tailor in Phuket. Unlike many online custom tailors, we own our factory and maintain control of the process from the initial order placement through fabric stock, cutting, manufacturing, quality control, dispatch, and customer support. This allows us to create great quality affordable tailoring by cutting out the middlemen. That’s why we’re the best tailor in Phuket. We strictly adhere to workplace conditions, wage regulations, and recommended environmental practices.

Where do the fabrics come from?

We buy fabrics from leading suppliers in Italy, UK, and China. We also import Egyptian and Japanese cotton. All our suppliers have signed our Code of Conduct.

Claims & Returns

What is your returns policy?

In the unlikely event that you are not satisfied with your custom-tailored garments from Exclusive Tailor, due to the fit, quality, fabric issue, etc, please contact us at sales@exclusivetailor.com We will evaluate the issue on a case per case basis.

The general principles are:

1. If we were not able to follow the clothing measurements you entered, with consideration of our cutting commitment and allowances published on our website, we will remake your order.

We highly suggest providing clothing measurements (pants, shirts, suit jackets) as our tailor’s allowances are minimal in line with industry standards.

If clothing measurements are unavailable, customers may opt to use body measurements. Our tailors add specific allowances (for comfort and movement) to garments made from body measurements. Due to these additional allowances, the customer may incur local alteration fees on their end to achieve a better fit (depending on their preferences).

2. If the package has been damaged during shipment, we will request a photograph of it. We will replace the order if it has not been tampered with (washed, cleaned, etc) and is reported within 1 week from receipt of the item.

I opened my package and my garment has some stains on it. What do I do?

It can sometimes happen that the tailor’s chalk is left on the garment and, in some cases, patterns from the ironing process. Please wash the garment once according to the instructions provided, without using any extra treatment or bleach. Should there still be a stain afterward, please send a photo of it to us so we can investigate further.

My garment does not fit. What should I do?

Please wash the garment first in accordance with the instructions given. We add a certain amount of fabric during production to adjust for the shrinkage that occurs during the first few washes. If you have ordered for the first time or with new or amended measurements, please send us some pictures of you wearing the garment (rear and front). Stand upright and relaxed with both arms by your side.

I would like to make a return. What do I do?

Since all our tailored garments are made to order they cannot be sold to anyone else and cannot be returned. If it is your first order you can use our fit guarantee. Please send a couple of pictures of yourself wearing the garment (front and back) to our customer services department. Stand straight with your arms relaxed and include a message describing the problem.

Shirts, suits, and accessories such as ties, bow ties, handkerchiefs, belts, socks, and cuff links can be returned or exchanged within 14 days.

You are responsible for returned goods until they reach us. Your order number or customer number must be clearly included in the return. Please also advise if you wish to have a refund or to exchange the merchandise for something else.

If there are any issues with your online order, don’t worry we’ll work it out!

What is your product complaints policy?

For workmanship-related complaints, please contact us via email within 2 weeks after the delivery of the goods. Complaints made after this period will not be entertained.

THE PROCESS:

Email photos showing the chief complaint/s within 14 days of receipt to sales@exclusivetailor.com

We will review the following:

Photos, profile, and originally submitted order details, quality paper/production paper, any additional notes/requests, any email correspondence concerning the order.

Our staff will forward these to the production manager for further investigation.

We will then present you with a resolution.

For measurement-related complaints, please submit photos to sales@exclusivetailor.com showing the incorrect measurements. Take note of the correct way to take measurements as detailed in our measurement guides. We follow the international standards for tolerance of production and our fabrics comply with ITF standards that require cotton fabrics to shrink less than 2%.

If Exclusive Tailor is responsible for an issue that is easily repairable or can be modified by a local tailor, Exclusive Tailor offers up to USD 20 alteration credit per item.

RESOLUTION:

If you submitted incorrect measurements/style, we will either remake or alter the fabric at your full expense.

If Exclusive Tailor is at fault, we will handle the full cost of alteration/remake. If it’s easier to have a local tailor alter this for you, we can offer a service credit to be used for future orders.

For shipping-related complaints:

If you provided the wrong address, you will need to contact the transporter to have it re-routed to the correct address. This may involve a re-routing fee for which you will need to shoulder the cost. If the order is urgent, we can remake and express ship it at your full expense.

If Exclusive Tailor provided the wrong address to the transporter, we will handle full re-shipment costs. If the order is urgent, we will remake and express ship it to you at no extra cost.

The above resolutions are general guidelines. We review each complaint on its individual merits.

Product Care

How do I care for shirt and suit fabrics?

Please follow the guides we provide in our blog section and on social media.

General care tips for shirts:

– Remove collar stays, button-up, wash inside out
– Cold wash (30°C)
– Hang dry
– Do not tumble dry
– For easier ironing, iron while damp

General care tips for jackets:

Jackets made from natural materials help the body ventilate and don’t need cleaning very often.

To extend the life of your jacket:

– Dry clean only
– Clean no more than four times per year
– If creased, press professionally, do not steam
– Spot clean with water and mild detergent
– The natural fibers of your suit need time to rest
– Avoid wearing more than two or three times per week
– After wearing, hang up in a ventilated space to allow air to circulate and reduce wrinkling

General care tips for wool trousers:

Wool is antimicrobial and naturally stays fresh.

– Dry clean only
– Clean once per month if worn frequently
– After wearing, hang up in a ventilated space to allow air to circulate and reduce wrinkling
– For your favorite suits, we recommend buying a second pair of trousers, as they typically get more wear than jackets

General tips for cotton & linen trousers:

Wash with care to avoid shrinkage and wear.

– Cold wash (30°C)
– Hang dry
– Do not tumble dry
– When ironing, use a thin cloth between the iron and garment

Trunk Show Orders

What is the procedure?

At your appointment, your tailor will guide you through the available fabric and design options. We’ll take your exact measurements and, if you’re an existing customer, we’ll update your account to ensure future orders are a perfect fit.

We ask you to bring your best-fitting garments (don’t wear them) with you so we can get a size reference for the perfect fit. 

We will take payment by card, online, or by cash.

The session will take about 1.5 hrs

Our tailors will get to work immediately, and we will deliver your custom-tailored clothes within 3-4 weeks.

Your measurements and designs are saved to your account, so with just a few clicks, you’ll be able to order perfectly fitting clothes anytime you want.

Please note there is a minimum order of 3 shirts unless you’re purchasing a suit or pants.

Please bring both a shirt and suit should you wish to get measured for both (even if you don’t plan to buy them now). They don’t have to be perfect as we’ll work with you to improve the fit. We will use these to get a more precise reference than pure body measurements. This will allow us to tailor great-fitting garments without any follow-up fittings.

How long does an appointment take?

Each appointment takes around 1.5 hours.

Which payment methods do you accept?

After the Trunk Show, we accept payment via Visa, Mastercard, cash, or via Paypal.

Do you have a minimum order requirement?

Yes, the minimum order is 3 shirts if no suit or pants are purchased. If a suit, pants, or a vest is ordered then there is no shirt minimum.

Are custom and import duties included in the price?

No, the customer will be responsible for any import duties and import taxes that may be applicable. This is unfortunately out of our control.

What is your alterations policy?

Since fittings are not available during the trunk shows, we base sizing on a current garment the client owns and adjust as needed. This means the suit or shirt you bring functions as a fitting stage garment, allowing us to make tweaks from a good starting point. This allows us to achieve a perfect fit without fittings. In the unlikely event of any issues, we typically offer a credit for local alterations for minor tweaks or in extreme cases remakes of the entire garment.

Note: We have a 1-2 cm allowance for body and sleeve width (including back width, front width, and shoulder width, a 1cm allowance for the sleeve length, and a 0.5cm allowance for collars and cuffs.

Our garments are hand-cut and sewn so no two garments are exactly the same. This is part of the charm and unique nature of Bespoke clothing.

What is the fastest way to order a gift certificate?

You can download a gift certificate if the amount is paid at the same time the order is placed. Just choose Download as the delivery method and the gift certificate will be available as a pdf-file after your order has been placed. We will also send an email containing the file to the email address provided. If you order a present for somebody living in another country, please keep in mind to change to that country in order to get the correct currency on the gift certificate.

Referrals

I REFERRED A FRIEND BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY REFERRAL VOUCHER. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

There is a 14-day review period for all referrals. All referrals are validated by our system before the referral voucher is sent to the affiliate/referrer’s email address using the following conditions:

  1. The order must be placed using the referral link.
  2. The profiles of the referral and affiliate should not be the same.
  3. The affiliate must order and pay prior to the referral sale being made.
  4. The affiliate and referee shipping addresses should not be identical.
  5. The IP address for the affiliate and referee should not be the same.

It is important that all of these are met to receive a referral voucher.
